About this Blanket
A laurel-crowned Roman emperor, shown in strong profile in the manner of Julius Caesar, takes center stage on this design. He wears a draped terracotta toga fastened with a round brooch over a sage-green tunic, framed by two curving laurel branches and a cream-and-terracotta Greek key meander.
Around the portrait, the panels are filled with Roman symbols: four spread-winged imperial eagles, two of them clutching thunderbolts, one perched above a laurel branch; an empty laurel wreath; two fasces with axes; and bands of interlaced knotwork. The palette of terracotta, golden orange, sage green, cream and black gives it the bold, poster-like look of a classical banner, ideal for anyone drawn to ancient Rome.
Perfect for:
- History lovers and fans of ancient Rome
- Classics students, teachers and Latin enthusiasts
- Readers of Roman history and historical fiction
- A birthday or Father's Day gift for a history buff
- A housewarming gift for someone with classical taste
