About this Blanket
An Aztec eagle warrior stands at the center of this design, wearing an eagle-head helmet with a sweeping crest of blue and teal feathers, a feathered cape, a beaded collar with a pectoral ornament, a white loincloth with a stepped sash, banded arm guards and sandals. He holds a feather-tied spear in one hand and carries a round shield with a geometric wheel motif and hanging feathers in the other.
The warrior stands on a cream panel framed by a navy border with eagles in the corners, spotted jaguars prowling across the top and bottom, and stepped diamond motifs. Cream side bands carry stylized floral and step-fret patterns. The palette of navy, turquoise, terracotta, gold and cream gives it a warm, bold Mesoamerican look.
