About this Blanket
An Aztec eagle warrior stands at the center of this woven cotton blanket, wearing an eagle-head helmet crowned with a tall fan of green feathers, a feathered collar with a jade pendant, a jaguar-head belt and a spotted jaguar-skin kilt. He grips a macuahuitl war club in one hand and carries a round shield with a stepped fret design, fringed with green, blue and rust feathers.
A wide Mesoamerican border frames the scene: feathered serpents winding along the top and bottom, sun-disc glyphs, stylized serpent and deity heads at the sides and corners, step-fret spirals and zigzag bands. The palette of terracotta, rust, ochre, jade green and deep navy on a cream ground gives it a warm, bold, maximalist look.
It is a strong piece for anyone drawn to Aztec history, warrior imagery and richly patterned decor.
Perfect for:
- Fans of Aztec and Mesoamerican history
- Teen boys and young men who like warrior art
- A birthday gift for a brother or son
- Lovers of maximalist, earthy decor
- A housewarming gift with cultural character
