About this Blanket
An Aztec jaguar warrior stands at the center of this design. He wears a jaguar-head helmet crowned with tall green quetzal feathers. He grips an obsidian-edged macuahuitl in one hand and carries a round shield with a radiant sun emblem. A beaded collar, a mask pendant, a skull-studded belt and a fringed cape complete his regalia.
Around him, coiling green feathered serpents, golden eagles with spread wings, a second carved war club and bold Mesoamerican glyph shapes fill the background. A step-fret meander border with small skulls frames the whole scene. The palette of rust red, ochre gold, jade green, teal and cream gives it a warm, powerful, codex-inspired look.
Perfect for:
- Lovers of Aztec and Mesoamerican history
- Fans of ancient warrior art and mythology
- Anyone celebrating Mexican heritage
- A birthday gift for a history buff
- A housewarming gift for a bold, eclectic home
